Unit 1 Section A

Today in class we reviewed some of the basics of working with positive and negative numbers, using the order of operations, and simplifying and evaluating expressions. Here's a quick online game you can play that gets more challenging as you go and helps you practice the order of operations. Here's a nice little tutorial on simplifying algebraic expressions with a interactive part at the end to check your understanding. Remember Unit 1 Worksheet 1 is due Wednesday except for my 7th period class for which it is due on Thursday.

Welcome to Mr. Demsey's Algebra 2 class!

Starting today, I will be posting to this blog each school day to share a bit more about the topics that you are learning in class that day. To be successful you will need to work hard, and I pledge to do the same. In addition, I will provide links to additional free online resources that can assist and enhance your learning. I will also have links to a video of the notes being given in case you are absent or want to review the steps and explanation of the notes. Along with the notes outline and other handouts given out in class in case you are absent or accidentally misplaced them. All of these resources can be found at my website www.mrdemsey.com. I will continue to update it throughout the year, and if you find any other useful online resources that are not already listed there, please let me know so I can add them. Also remember that you are welcome to come in for extra help outside of class during my office hours.
